Last year, I’ve done a little character design for the Pictoplasma Character Collision Army, a Go-Kart derby in front of the Ministry of Environment during the Todays Art Festival in The Hague. The project was set up taking visual cues from military recruitment campaigns (I want you for..) and Mario Kart.
My pink hare was the face of one of three teams visitors could choose from, the two other teams racing under the flags of Motomichi Nakamura and Rinzen.
Although from the two versions above, the pumped-up Rambo bunny was generally prefered for its quirkyness, the right one was used, having a more direct appeal and providing a stronger contrast to the aggressive military context.
