The short film I directed over the past 6 months has premiered today.
Summarizing the film’s premise:
“In a Forest takes the viewer in an unexpected transformation from one reality to the next.”
That’s true.
In a forest screens as the opening film for The last airbender in 70 cinemas in The Netherlands.
It’s distributed as a 2K digital cinema file which looks so pristine it feels like the film is beamed directly into your visual cortex.
For festival screening dates, keep an eye on this site.

The version above is viewable with good old red-cyan anaglyph glasses. Providing both an illusion of depth, as well as the sort of retina splitting err-what-the-hell-am-I-looking-at kind of effect I was aiming for. It’s all about beauty and pain, isn’t it.
But, people have preferences, so if you’re more into amber-blue, pink-green or fancy IiNnTtEeRrLaCcEeDd viewing modes, you might want to check out the video on Youtube, where you can choose these modes from the drop down menu (pictured below).

A
Temperatures have dropped a little over here in the Bundesrepublik (exhibit A). In the warm and comfortable environment of my home, I suddenly found the “inspiration” for a tiny update.
Each year production house Submarine gives their employees something special for Christmas. Something special, as opposed to, you know, …kitchen appliances.
For last year’s gift they asked me to do a drawing (exhibit B), printed and signed in a limited run of 40. As may be clear from viewing the picture, it has as a subject several instances of Jesus, portrayed performing the act of imaginative brain traveling. Yes sir. In the most cunning fashion, the drawing incorporates several visual themes that apply to the company’s work and spirit.

and finally
Starting next week, some of my paintings will be in a (still somewhat secret) group show in Amsterdam. Part of profits will be donated to charity and part of the profit will be donated to me. Below is one of the pieces in the show (exhibit C).
More on this soon…
