Opening titles and festival main publicity image for the 2010 Pictoplasma Festival Berlin.
Designed to work with red-cyan 3d glasses it produces a threedimensional effect while violently assaulting the retina to a migraine-inducing extent. The choice to use (low level, broken) 3d was a gentle poke towards the current trend of “anything 3d” in popular culture. The Pictoplasma Festival exists in part to document current trends (in character-driven design), but attempts to focus on those working individuals who have a progressive attitude towards their medium.
The image was made by producing several instances of proper working 3d, which were then manually violated and stacked upon one another. The subject is a figure who’s appearance never comes to a rest, constantly changing form.
